Savings Account Report

I'm running Quickbooks 2021 Premier Contractors Edition.  I use a savings account to track income for a building project and I transfer funds in and out as needed.  I'd like to run a report that shows all deposits for one time period, say for 2019 or "all." I can see individual deposits in the deposit detail report but I've yet to find a report that will give me a total of all deposits along with the current balance.  Does this exist?  I've been thorough in searching online for suggestions and maybe I'm just missing something really simple. Thanks for your help.

Savings Account Report

I'd be delighted to help you run a report that shows the data you need, @CCampbell.

You can run the Transaction Detail by account and filter it based on the details you need. I'll show you how.

  1. Go to the Reports menu in your QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT).
  2. Type in and enter Transaction Detail in the search field.
  3. Locate the report and select Run report.
  4. Click Customize Report.
  5. Select the Filters tab.
  6. Type Account in the Search Filters field and select your preferred account from the drop-down menu.
  7. Then, type in Transaction Type in the Search Filters field and select Deposit2.PNG
  8. Click OK, and modify the date to the year 2019.

You can also check out this article for more details: Customize reports in QuickBooks Desktop.

Additionally, you might want to memorize the report to save its current settings. This way, you can easily access it without going through the customization process again. Please see this resource for guidance: Create, access and modify memorized reports.

If you have any follow-up questions about running reports in QBDT, please don't hesitate to let me know. I'll be more than happy to take care of them for you. Have a good one and keep safe!
