Buy nowI am preparing for the switch to the new invoice format in December and cannot find how to include shipping information. We are using the "ship via", "shipping date", and tracking no." fields. As a manufacturing business, our customers are requesting this information from us and we need to provide it with these transactions, as well as track it centrally on our end. Is there a way to get this back on the new invoice format? It appears others also are having this issue, and removing this functionality will cause significant extra work and resources.
I am already using the limited amount of custom fields for purchase order numbers and unique lot numbers tied to the invoiced items.
I understand the convenience of having the option to include the shipping information in your invoices as a manufacturing business, @JMarshall2. Please know that we aim to serve you best by improving our QuickBooks products. I'm here to share the steps to submit a feature request to make it available.
We value your thoughts about adding the shipping details to your invoices. However, please know that the Ship via, Shipping Date, and Tracking no. fields still need to be ready for the new invoice layout experience.
As a workaround, you can opt to use the Old layout in the meantime if you can still switch. Otherwise, you can use the Message on invoice field to input the necessary shipping information or consider using a third-party application to include these fields in your invoices.
While this feature is currently unavailable, I encourage you to submit feedback requests to our product developers. Rest assured that they will review and consider it for future updates depending on the number of users' requests. Here's how:
Please visit our Feedback forum page to track your submitted feature request and view the most recent QuickBooks updates.
If you need to make modifications or want to personalize your invoices and other sales forms, follow the instructions in this article: Customize invoices, estimates, and sales receipts in QuickBooks Online.

Thank you @Kevin_C for your response. Your reference of features currently unavailable was the first I have seen that section referenced in communication about this transition. Is this meant to suggest that this feature as well as others listed are being developed and anticipated to be added later?
I have previously submitted a feedback request on multiple occasions since this was realized to no longer be included. I have not heard any feedback or confirmation that these requests are being considered, and similarly do not see anywhere to track the development of specific features to know what is being considered or voiced by the community. I can continue to submit these requests up to and past the transition deadline (which is happening in 2 weeks' time), but I do not know if these are being received or considered. Is there somewhere that updates on this can be provided?
I appreciate your immediate response, JMarshall2. I'll give you more information about the issue with the invoice feature in QuickBooks Online (QBO).
Yes, the classic invoice features currently unavailable in the new experience are likely being developed and anticipated to be added later. However, the schedule for when they will be implemented in the system is currently unknown.
In the meantime, I'd recommend using and switching back to the old layout (if it's still an option) to ensure you can continue entering the required shipping details into your invoices.
On the other hand, I encourage you to visit our Feedback forum page to track your submitted feature request and view the most recent QuickBooks updates.
Also, you can pull up the Transaction Detail by Account report to show a list of invoices due on a specific date range. Please check out this article for the complete guide: Customize report to see invoices due in QuickBooks Online.
Please keep in touch whenever you have other concerns about the invoice features in QBO. I'll get back to you right away to assist you further.
Just a comment: I did submit feedback according to your instructions, thank you. I just wanted to post here also that it's completely perplexing and unacceptable that a simple, common, previously available, and STANDARD field for invoices is not available in the new invoicing format. We use these fields for EVERY invoice. It is not an ok workaround to use the notes fields
@cindy907 The worst part is that their reply on here says you can ask that this feature be ADDED to invoices. NO. You are simply asking that it be RESTORED. The feature, like many others recently, already existed and was REMOVED without warning.
These changes make no sense and are the reason many like us are migrating away from Quickbooks software this year.
