You can send an email to a phone as a text. Here's how:
How to Send Text Messages Via Email (SMS & MMS): List of Gateways
To make it work you'll need to get your customers' phone carriers, which you can do here:
LOL That's not a reasonable solution when I'm paying $1000 a year for Quickbooks. Text delivery should be an option for invoices in this product. Its 2024!
Well excuse me for trying to help. I'm glad you think my answer funny.
What's unreasonable about it? It seems perfectly reasonable to me, which is why I suggested it.
All you have to do is change the customer's email (the customer that does not read email anyway) to their phone's 'email' and then you'll have exactly what you asked for. Seems a small, really minuscule, effort to accommodate your customers and get them to pay you.
I don't know about you, but I don't have a lot of time to look up the phone carriers of hundreds of customers to find up their phone carriers and update their client records. I can use my carrier's online text feature, use the share link feature to copy the link, paste it to a text message, and send the link for the "I never saw it clients" even thought I can tell the email was opened, but that is such a waste of time also. But again, this should not be what we are paying Quickbooks for in 2024. Excuse me for thinking this product should be a little more current in capability and technology.
@cchills Far be it from me to dissuade somebody from being irate with QBO, but realistically, it's just not going to happen.
Their main focus these days is grifting their customers for everything they can before their tower of cards comes tumbling down. QBO has continually gotten worse, particularly the last few years.
People spend actual years on this forum calling them out for everything under the sun, and the only thing that happens is downgrades.
People don't like the new invoice layout? They force them to use it anyway.
People don't like their new AI pet writing garbage subject lines for them? Too bad.
I mean, I do get it. QBO is awful. But @BigRedConsulting has already given you the best resolution you're likely to get here.
I expect one of the QB staff to show up here either telling you all about how they're going to help you by saying you can't text, or for whatever reason, trying to get you to clear your cache.
You wrote,
"Some customers complain they don't read email" and then
"I don't have a lot of time to look up the phone carriers of hundreds of customers to find up their phone carriers and update their client records."
I took "some" to be a lot less than "hundreds".
In any case, you have hundreds of customers that won't read email, but they have smart phones, which have email built right in, and they won't read your mail when they get a email notification, but they will read a text when they get a text notification? If so, that's probably a rather unique case and not a problem shared by many QuickBooks users.
