Specific Vendor Bills & Payment Date Report (Aging after paid?)

More a REPORT "how to" question as opposed to any accounting;  we are a property management company and own & manage 10 properties.  We run vendor payables run twice a month, the 10th and 25th.  Often times invoices are entered with a early to mid month date and paid on the 25th, well under the typical due in 30 days mark.  That said, I was asked this morning to provide a report that shows the vendor (of course) the last several months of bills received (time line I can enter via custom date), what the invoice date may have been and the date it was actually PAID.  A paid aging?  It is managements thought that if we are paying these bills well under the 30 day mark (depending on vendor of course) we should be receiving a discount, ergo, I was asked to run such a report, does one exist so we can view our payment history time line with the vendor?  Thanks for any feedback.

Specific Vendor Bills & Payment Date Report (Aging after paid?)

Ok me again - I'm sitting here playing w/ QB in an effort to find my answer...playing with a Transaction List by Vendor and changing the columns to see what will appear.  I am getting MOST of what I need to see but what would be MOST HELPFUL was if there was a way I can see a payment aging!  ie:  invoice came in on 3/1, was paid 3/19, ergo, was paid in 18 days.  Is there such a way to see a column that calculates from the date entered of the invoice to the date of the check how many days that = ??

Specific Vendor Bills & Payment Date Report (Aging after paid?)

Welcome to the Community, Plink.

You are correct that the Transaction Detail report includes the information you're looking for. With regard to the payment aging, we're unable to supply this column. We have an option to add an Aging column in the Customize Report window, but this only applies to the unpaid bills.

You'll want to export the report to Excel and add the data. Then. manually compare the date difference.

To add the Aging column and export the report, here's how:

  1. In the Transaction Detail Report window, click the Customize Report button.
  2. From the Display tab, set the appropriate date range.
  3. In the Columns section, type Aging and put a check mark to it.
  4. Hit OK to display the report.
  5. Click Excel located at the top and select Create New Worksheet.
  6. Follow the on-screen instructions in creating a new worksheet.

Specific Vendor Bills & Payment Date Report (Aging after paid?)

Yes, good afternoon and thank you.  I had to generate a Transaction List by Vendor, eliminate a couple columns, upload into Excel, add an "Aging" column (delete General Journal Entry rows based on information entered in QB) and enter a formula of BILL DATE minus payment date to get my "aging" per bill.  Just extremely tedious as we have many vendors for 10 properties......a lot of manual work.

Thank you for responding, appreciate it! 👍🏻😁  Enjoy your day
