The new custom reports no longer have the option of "This Year to Last Month". This is a critical feature to allow automatic scheduling of reports that will not include current month data that has not yet been validated. Without this option, it will require adjusting the Custom Time Frame every month. We have over 30 reports that we run automatically each month. Please bring this option back!

I'd definitely understand the importance of having the ability to customize reports by "This Year to Last Month" reporting period in the program. To help me check in our end, can you share with me what specific are you trying to filter in QuickBooks Online? This way, we can review it and provide you with the right response to address the issue.

These screenshots are from the exact same report. The first is the old style report. The second is the new custom report. The only change between the two is I started with the enhanced view, then clicked on Switch to Classic View.
This option for "This Year to Last Month" has been an option for all reports until these new Enhanced Reporting options.
The option for "This Year to Last Month" formally was an option for a new Custom Report. See screenshot. This is a new Custom Report showing that is how that report was last saved, however if I look at the report period options now, it is not there for this report either.

The This Year to Last Month option in the report period is currently unavailable in the enhanced reporting. That said, I recommend sending your comment to our product engineering team. Here's how:
In the meantime, a workaround for this is selecting the Custom Dates option so you can enter the start date and end date of the report you want to generate. Here's how:
