I have some helpful information to share with you about tracking your inventory items, @StonePlumbing.
In QuickBooks Online (QBO), you can add service and non-inventory items for products and services that you buy or sell but don't keep track of as part of your inventory. Service items are used for any services that you provide to your customers, while non-inventory items include any products that you buy or sell, but don't need to track as inventory. Just make sure to set all the information needed on the Product/Service information page, especially the Expense account and Income account.

From here, you can track quantity and cost by creating a bill, expenses, or a check. The sales price will only take effect if those services are added to invoices and sales receipts.
