Unable to edit custom report group

I have several custom report groups setup so that I can send multiple reports to the same group of people, regularly each month on the same day.  This has been setup this way for several years and each year about this time, I need to edit the group to modify the recipients of the reports.

I am able to edit the schedule and email recipients for individual reports but when I click edit on a custom report group, the system just stalls and never responds.  I have confirmed this to be an issue within multiple browsers (Safari, Chrome and Brave) and also in the Mac app.  I have both an accountant account and a user account and the behavior is the same. I reported this to Intuit support several days ago and was told there was an open case for this and I would be notified with updates.  I have never received any such updates so I wanted to post here to see if others have experienced this and if there is a workaround.  I really need to modify the recipients for these  reports within the next week.

I have also confirmed this behavior is the same if I setup a new report group.  Once I add a report to a group, I am not able to access the settings to enter the email addresses or the schedule.  If I click edit, the system never responds.

I am using Quickbooks Online Advanced.

Upon checking, the investigation is still ongoing. Our product engineers are working on resolving the issue. I recommend checking your email from time to time since update will be sent from there for all affected users.

Same Trouble here....I have created a group of reports for each fiscal year for the last 6 years that all have customized date ranges.  I can't add reports to my 2023 group as I would like to.

  6. After that, select Get a call.
  7. You will now be added to the queue and wait for us to call you.

Are there any updates on this feature? I was wondering if it had to do with the clients plan until I googled and saw the question. I hope QBO gets it resolved soon, its causing me to do extra work!

The investigation in this thread has been closed, @BookkeepChris. I can offer some guidance on modifying the recipients of your custom report groups in QuickBooks Online (QBO).


In QBO, you can edit the recipients of a report group only if the report is in classic view. If the report is in modern view, you can only edit the report group name, not its recipient. For a visual guide on this, refer to the photos provided:

 

 


Based on this, I suggest creating a new custom report in classic view and setting up a new report group to modify the recipients.

 

On the other hand, if you still can't modify the recipients after creating a new report group in the old layout, contacting our support team is recommended. They also have the expertise to help you understand your concern and can provide another workaround for achieving your goal. Here's how to contact them:

 

  1. Log in to your QuickBooks Online company.
  2. On the upper right corner of your screen, click on Help (?).
  3. Select or type Contact Us.
  4. Start entering your concern, then select Let's Talk.
