I work for a large builder using QB Desktop Premier Plus. I'm asked for a report listing uncleared checks. You would think that QB would have that report but no! I've gone through all the suggestions and filters. I come up with a report with all of the checks even though I filter to NO on the cleared filter. It also lists all of the ACH trans. which I don't want. QBs is always updating to silly little changes. I see this report requested going back years! Please quickbooks this is a very basic report. We should be able to filter the date and have our report!!
I tried creating a report of uncleared checks and it seems to work fine.
Note that for the reports uncleared = not reconciled.
What report are you running where you're seeing reconciled checks on the report?
Can someone list out the exact report to use in Report Center on Quickbooks Desktop to pull a report of all uncleared checks? I need these 4 fields: Check #, check date, vendor name, check amount
To view your uncleared checks in QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT), you can generate the Transaction Detail by Vendor report, @NPC03. I'm here to assist you in customizing it.
This report provides a detailed summary of all transactions linked to each vendor, allowing you to analyze their activities and confirm the transactions related to your suppliers. Here’s how to customize the report to display the information you need:
1. Head to the Reports menu, then Custom Reports
2. Choose the Transaction Detail.
3. On the report page, go to the Customize Report button, then edit the From and To date fields.
4. Under the Display tab, go to the Column section, then tick the following: Type, Date, Num, Account, Amount. Please know that the Num will show your check number.
5. On the Filters section, search for the following:
6. Once done, click OK.
Once done, you can now view all your uncleared checks in QBDT.

Hi @SheandL - thank you for the detailed steps, but I am still not getting the report pulled correctly. I followed your instructions and set the Dates to ALL, but the report only shows some petty cash checks from 2015-2016 on our account. There should be multiple uncleared checks from 2024 included on this report.
Do you have any idea what setting would be off if my report is only pulling uncleared 2016 checks?
I appreciate you for following the steps provided by my colleague, NPC03. Let me help you customize the best report for pulling up uncleared checks from your QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT) account.
First, you'll need to create custom reports and edit them to display your preferred transaction data.
Here's how:
Note that once the report is pulled up for uncleared checks, it will not show a checkmark under the Clr column.
I've also added a screenshot for your visual reference.
If the transactions are not showing up on the report you've pulled up, it's possible that the checks have been reconciled. You can also check the reconciled account to ensure the transactions are there.
In addition, you can refer to this article to learn how to export reports to Excel from QBDT: Export reports as Excel workbooks in QuickBooks Desktop.

Re:
Your steps will result in a report report will show all transactions for a period that have payees who are vendors.
That is not what the OP asked for.
The request is for a report that lists all uncleared checks, and only uncleared checks. It's not difficult to understand, is it?
Here are steps:
1. Start on the Reports menu and pick Custom Reports | Transaction Detail
2. When the Modify Report window appears, click on the Filters tab.
3. Remove the Date filter, for all dates.
4. Add the following Filters:
- TransactionType = Multiple Transaction Types, then: Check, Bill Payment, Sales Tax Payment, Paycheck, Payroll Liability Check
- Detail Level = Summary Only
- Cleared = No
- Account = The bank account you want to report on (if you have multiple bank accounts and only want to see one).
Click OK to run the report.
