We understand the importance of this functionality in businesses like yours, Isabelle.

The billable option can be checked when modifying categorized transactions under your register or chart of accounts. Since you mentioned that you can't access the billable box, you can perform some basic troubleshooting steps to fix it. This helps you to identify the causes of why you cannot check the billable box.

Let's start by accessing your QuickBooks account via incognito or private window. This mode doesn't retain cache, so we can verify if it is a webpage issue.

Here are the keyboard shortcuts you can use:

  • For Firefox, press Ctrl + Shift + P
  • For Chrome, press Ctrl + Shift + N
  • For Safari, hold down Command + Shift + N
  •

From there, sign in to your QuickBooks account to see if you can record deposits successfully. If it works, I recommend clearing the default browser's cache. You can also use other supported browsers to isolate this issue.

In addition, you can create personalized and professional-looking invoices, estimates, and sales receipts: Customize invoices, estimates, and sales receipts in QuickBooks Online.
