Used to have shaded alternating lines, our invoices changed by themselves a couple of years ago and can't get back. Mistakes on our invoices since. How can we get back?

Shaded alternating lines are needed to help prevent misreading of lines bunched up together. Currently using Quickbooks Online.

You might be using QuickBooks Desktop before. The option to add shaded alternating lines to invoices and other sales transactions is only available in the Desktop version.

Although, you can add colors to your templates in QBO. Here's how:

  1. Go to the Gear icon and select Custom Form Styles.

  1. Click New style, then select Invoice. You can also edit the current template if you want to continue using it by clicking the Edit button under the Action column.
  2. Proceed to the Design tab add click Try other colors
  3. Make the changes to the colors that you want.
  4. Select Done.

You can read more details about this here: Customize Invoices, Estimates, and Sales Receipts in QuickBooks Online.

Our engineers would also like to get your suggestion or feedback about adding the same feature in QBO. Customer inputs and suggestions are always used and considered whenever new updates are designed. Use this article as a guide: How Do I Submit Feedback?
