Vendor Contact List & Tax ID

I wanted to run a vendor contact list and include the vendor tax ID, however, that no longer appears in the columns as a selection to choose from.

Vendor Contact List & Tax ID

Let's discuss more about report columns in QuickBooks Online (QBO) and the capability of the subscription levels, karen39.

The Tax ID column in the Vendor Contact List (modern view) is exclusive to QuickBooks Advance subscription. However, if you're using a lower subscription, you can click the Switch to classic view button to use the prior report interface.

Here's how to locate the Tax ID column in Advanced subscription:

  1. Click the Columns icon.
  2. Select the More Columns.
  3. Type Tax ID in the search bar
  4. Put a checkmark in the box beside the Tax ID option.

Furthermore, if you want to personalize the data on the report, you can customize it to your liking. Here's an article for the detailed steps in doing so: Modify reports in QuickBooks Online.

Vendor Contact List & Tax ID

Since Quickbooks is permanently removing the Classic View, does this mean the Tax ID column would no longer be available for all other subscription plans?

Vendor Contact List & Tax ID

Let me share the details about the tax ID column on QuickBooks Online plans with you, CCalma.

The Tax ID column will remain available for the QuickBooks Online Advanced subscription, as it is already accessible in the modern view without needing to switch to Classic view.

However, for lower subscription plans, the Tax ID column will no longer be available once the Classic view is removed. To improve the modern view of the report, I recommend providing feedback. This will help our engineers understand how they can enhance existing features and create new ones to better serve our customers.

Here's how:

  1. Go to Reports, then enter Vendor Contact List.
  2. In the upper-right corner of the report, click Give feedback.
  3. Enter your feedback, then click Next.

You can also check out this article for more details: Customize your reports with a modern view.
