We are a not-for-profit that uses Quickbooks online. Have others procured it through Tech Soup and transfer our data to avoid the monthly fees? Thanks.

If you're trying to import your data from Tech Sup, you can use the Import feature in QuickBooks Online.

Here's how:

1. Click the Gear icon at the top menu bar.
2. Choose Import Data.
3. Select the data you'd like to Import.

Like Ros, we are a nonprofit and moved from QB desktop to QB online before the free version from Tech Soup was available.  Now, I'd like to shift all of my data to the free version of QB Online.  When I export the GL, P&L, Balance Sheet, Trial Balance, and Journal, I don't see all of my data.  Is there any way to simply have QBs change the status of my original Online account to be free?

The option to change your QuickBooks Online (QBO) account status to free is not possible. You’ll want to subscribe again to our QBO thirty (30) days free trial version.

To export the data from your old QBO account, please refer to these steps below:

1. Go to the Gear icon.
2. Select Export Data.
3. Set the desired date range on the Reports tab.
4. Add or remove items from the Reports and Lists tabs.
5. Then click Export to Excel.

Then to import the data to your new free version of QBO, you can refer to the steps shared by my colleague RoseMarjorieA above.

You may have 2 option to clone your account:

1. Utilize a 3rd party migration tool

2. Purchase a 3rd party service.

We are a nonprofit and have used QBonline for a few months, now with Tech Soup. We want to move our data from the QB online to QB online with Tech Soup.  I reading the post it appears that may be a challenge.  Any ideas to make this a safer transition. 

You have the option to move lists, reports, and other data from QuickBooks Online to Tech Soup, @thebridge-tg.

You can easily download the data entered into your file to your local hard drive. Let me show you how:

1. Go to the Settings ⚙ icon and then select Export Data.
2. On the Reports tab, set the date range.
3. Add or remove items from the Reports and Lists tabs by toggling the slider.
4. Click Export to Excel.
   

Once done, you'll be prompted with confirmation that the data has been exported.

Additionally, exported reports will include the data from posting transactions such as invoices, receipts, bills, etc. balances. To guide you on how to export non-posting information, please refer to this article: Export non-posting transactions and attachments.

Then, import them to your new account. Moreover, you may consider using a third-party app, to export and import the data fully to the new account. You can visit our App store and explore the right app.

I've got some tips on how to move your QuickBooks data to your new account purchased from TechSoup.

Techsoup is a third-party service provider. You'll have to contact them directly to purchase a subscription and migrate your data from QuickBooks. After that, you can now transfer your data by following these steps:

1. Click on the Gear icon. Then, hit Export Data.
2. Select the date range on the Reports tab.
3. Add or remove items from the Reports and Lists tabs.
4. Click on Export to Excel.
