We use Projects to track our nonprofit's restricted income and expense but sometimes cannot get the income to show up in Projects. Suggestions?

This project income issue in QuickBooks Online (QBO) is likely caused by your browser, so let's work together to troubleshoot and fix this, Gene.

Before we do so, let's ensure that all your income transactions are displayed in the Transactions tab of your project and appear when generating reports from the Project Reports tab. Please refer to the screenshot below for guidance on this.

After confirming, proceed with troubleshooting. Start by pulling up your QuickBooks Online account using a private browser (incognito). Here's how:

  • Press Ctrl Shift (Google Chrome)
  • Ctrl Shift (Firefox)
  • Control Option (Safari)

Once signed in, go to the Projects menu to see your income.

If you're able to do so, return to your default browser and clear its cache. After that, log out and then log back into your account. This will refresh the system and remove older data that causes viewing and performance issues.

However, if this matter continues, I'd recommend using other supported browsers.

Additionally, you can track labor expenses using the projects feature in QBO. For a complete guide on how to do this, you can check out this article: Track hourly labor costs and profitability by project in QuickBooks Online.

You can always get back to this thread if you have other concerns about managing project transactions in QBO. We in the Community are always ready to help you out.
