I understand how important it is to have accurate and consistent information in your Profit and Loss (P&L) report. Let's check together why the recently-entered bills are not showing up in the Transaction Report accessed from the P&L report.
If you find that recent bills are not showing up in your Profit and Loss report, there are a few factors to consider. First, ensure that the accounting basis set for the report is accurate. Here's an article you can use as a reference: Choose between cash and accrual accounting methods in QuickBooks Online.
Also, when running the P&L report, it's important to remember that bills and bill payments both contribute to expenses. If recent bills were not properly recorded or paid, they may not be reflected in the P&L report. Make sure to check that bills have been entered correctly and that payments have been applied to those bills.
Additionally, the Transaction Detail report is designed to provide a detailed view of all transactions within a specified date range, regardless of their impact on the P&L report. This report focuses on individual transactions and may not group them by category or account as the P&L report does.
If you want to specifically view bills and their associated transactions, consider running a Vendor Balance Detail report.

Thanks. We have used QuickBooks for at least 25 years. I know I have all those basics down.
We think it has something to do with the new "Equals including children" option in the filters. What we discovered last night is that if we change that filter operation, they show up. But then this morning, they show up whether the filter is set one way or the other. So I don't know what was up. Maybe it was a bug that got fixed overnight.
Either way, it appears to be working now and we didn't change anything about the bills themselves.
Thanks again.
We discovered last night that it had to do with the new filter operation "equals including children". When we changed it to "equals" they show up, which seemed backwards. Anyway, this morning they are showing up either way the filter is set. Not sure what the glitch was.
Thanks.
