In QuickBooks Online, the memo field is transaction-based. If you want to display the entered memo, add it in the description field when creating a bill. Let me guide you on how.

I understand what you said. But it will not show up when you go to pay a bill in Pay bills. It only shows Payee - Ref No - Due date - Open balance. I'm having to also copy memo to the ref no. But it is limited on space.
This comes up for me with multiple bills due at same time and same vender (property tax).
We like to group several bills together on one check.
Some here just want to make checks and not to use bill pay because this limitation.
I have tried to go straight to the vendor account. But have the same problem.

The memo column in the pay bills page is currently unavailable to QuickBooks Online (QBO). I understand the limited space the Ref. No. column offers. Please continue using this workaround at the moment.

You can signup for a free Melio account to integrate with QBO and you will be able to combine multiple bill payments to the same vendor into a single payment. This allows for easier reconciliation and saves you time and money on transactional fees. For any payment delivery method, your vendor will get an email showing a breakdown of all bills that have been paid.
If you paid your vendor with a check, they’ll get the check along with a breakdown of all bills that have been paid:

Remind me why the memo field is even there if it is not a QB OL function to populate.

My need is to see it in pay bills so I can group them from my memo info.
