Regarding the issue you raised, I ran a few tests on my end and was able to replicate it without any issues. I was able to search for transactions using a keyword both on the Magnifying glass and the Advanced search function. Everything seems to be working smoothly.
However, I understand that you faced difficulties with the search function, and I'm here to help. One possible reason for the search issue could be your browser. Sometimes, browsers can prevent QuickBooks Online from loading the data when you perform a search. To solve this issue, I recommend following a few steps:
You can refer to this article on how to view sortable lists of your transaction types. This will show you a sortable list of the selected types of transactions. You can click on any column header to sort the list by that field. Additionally, you can use the search bar to filter the results further: Search for transactions.

I'm using the QBO app, and I can search work order numbers and customer names just fine. But I use to be able to search addresses and things typed into the notes section but can no longer search those things. This new update is garbage, they changed way to many useful features.

As a workaround, you can use your mobile browser to log in to your QuickBooks Online account to search addresses and other things in the search bar.

i am having the same issue today as well. I can't get anything to search up. Frustrating and time consuming to manually have to go into customers to find things instead of searching for the item.
