WHY HAS THE INVOICE CHANGED TO MODERN-WHY CAN'T THEY LEAVE IT ALONE

I have spent hours trying to figure out how to create other columns and make adjustments to my invoice. I finally figured it out. I have it saved. It is saving under "Design" "under- Other Templates". But when I select the template name it is not changing it to that template. Does anyone know what I need to do? I have watched multiple youtube videos. Read everything that I can read. I don't know why it is so hard to make adjustments to an invoice.

Thanks!
