I understand how frustrating it can be when you can't search for transactions. I want you to know that I'm here to provide some steps so you can successfully search for an invoice.
A possible browser might have prevented QuickBooks Self-Employed to load the data when you search for the invoice. We have some steps to recommend that can solve browser-related issues when working in QBSE.
First, use an incognito/private browsing session or switch to a different browser. Use these keyboard shortcuts to start an incognito session:
To clear out temporary internet files that might have caused the issue. Use this article as a guide: Clear Cache And Cookies To Fix Issues When Using QuickBooks Online.
Once done, log back in and check if you can already see your data. If you're using the QBSE mobile app, you can uninstall it and reinstall it to refresh the data.
Please know that you're always welcome to swing by anytime if you still have questions or concerns with QBSE. I'll be around to help. Take care and have a good one.
This isn't what I mean - I can see the data, but the sort feature is messed up.
For example if I go to my invoices and sort by OVERDUE /ALL TIME, I can see my overdue invoices from all time. Fine.
But if I then search for FORD, it clears out the first two parameters and just shows me all search results for Ford.
There is no way for me to see OVER/ALL TIME/(ANY SEARCH PARAMETER). It will not show me this information, it resets one of the three parameters every time I use the search function.
Allow me to join this thread and share the results while using the Search function in QuickBooks Self-Employed (QBSE), vdpimaging.
I've replicated these steps and the Overall, All (time), and Search (name of the customer) shows at the same time. Here are my screenshots for your visual guide.
You can use other supported browsers to check the functionality. Please browse this link to know which browser to use: System requirements for QuickBooks Online, Accountant, and QuickBooks Self-Employed.
If it works, you can clear cache and cookies on your regular browser.
If not, I recommend contacting our QBSE Live Support Team so they can create a case under your company. That way, our Product Team will investigate the behavior of the feature.
Here's how to get in touch with them:
