I just spend an hour on support also trying to find out what happened to these fields, right in the middle of invoicing on the last month of the fiscal year!
I can add this as a custom field but now our data is in two places, stupid.
I don't know what kind of improvement to the user experience they were hoping for but we're livid over this change.
I have been dealing with this for a couple hours now. Business needs this function. I have to use tracking numbers in order to be paid on an invoice. Why is this so difficult to understand? Please fix the problem.
