Hi. We currently have an open investigation related to the service date of the invoice not populating using the new invoice layout. That's why you're experiencing this kind of behavior, accounting.

Rest assured that engineers are working on this to provide a permanent solution. You can receive updates and notifications regarding this investigation by letting our Support Team add your company details to the lists of the affected users. To do this, you can follow the steps below.

  1. On the QuickBooks Home page, click the Help icon.
  2. In the Search tab, click Contact Us.
  3. Choose Ask about something else. Then, enter your concern.
  4. Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the process.

Good morning, @accounting-lansi.

Thanks for reaching out to the QuickBooks Community. I hope you're having a great day so far.

Let's ensure that the date column is selected to show on the invoice template. I'm including some steps below to walk you through the process.

  1. Open the invoice.
  2. At the bottom of the screen, click on Customize, then Edit Current.
  3. Go to the Content tab on the left side of the screen, then tap on the middle section of the invoice to the right.
  4. Click on the Date option.

Now you should see the dates listed on your invoice as you can see in my screenshot below.

That should do the trick. For more information about customizing templates in QuickBooks Online, check out Customize invoices, estimates, and sales receipts in QuickBooks Online

Please let me know if there is anything else I can assist you with. Have a good one!

Hello Tori B,

thank you for the reply but the field is already there.

With the old layout it used to auto populate the date when uploading the monthly billable expense. Not it remains blank.
