Buy nowMy boss and I are stumped on how to reactivate an inactive class. It's not as simple as reactivating a vendor or customer. Neither of us seems to have "permission" to just click the X and make the class active again. I am seeing help for QBO but not QBD. What are we missing?
Hey there, @myrajoon.
Welcome to the Community!
All you need to do is locate the inactive class and right click on it. From there, you'll see an option to make the class active again.
If you're unable to do these steps, please provide me with the error message that you're receiving when trying to make it active or the screen.
I'll be waiting for your response!
Hello there, myrajoon. I'd be glad to help you clear things up regarding your query.
Based on the screenshot you provided, it appears the Holiday Spectacular is a subclass within QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT). Please note that if you deactivate a main class, its corresponding subclass will also become inactive, and the Make Class Active option will be greyed out.
To use the subclass again, you must first activate its main class so that the subclass will be automatically activated. This will allow you to have the option and make it active again.
Please see the screenshots below:
You'll want to track your classes within the program. Please refer to this article: Filter, sort, or total reports by Class.
Let me know if you have further questions or need assistance when handling classes and subclasses. I'm available round the clock and ready to help you. Keep safe.
Thank YOU! I looked so smart this morning when I told the boss I "fixed" the problem!
That's awesome, myra.
I'm glad to hear that my colleague was able to assist you with resolving your concern for today.
Feel free to post again here in the Community or leave a comment in this thread if you have more questions about classes or anything else QuickBooks. I'll be more than willing to assist. Take care.
