Hi there, @reliablehomebuy.
Let me provide you some information that will help you fix the issue.
QuickBooks will try to add a category, but you still need to review it in the account. Let me walk you through where you can manage and match your expense receipts in one place.
Here's how:
Once done adding a receipt, it will show up in the For Review tab in the Receipts tab. From here, you can do the following:

I know the process of uploading and matching the receipts. I usually upload my via via email, and expenses through my banking transactions. The issue I am having is it doesn't want to match if a tag is added to an expense that has already been created. I have to go back to the created matching expense and remove the tag to make the receipt match then add the tag back to the expense after the match has been done.
Thank you for getting back right away here in the Community @reliablehomebuy.

I happened to figure out the problem after i posted my question. It's good now.
What do you do if the receipt does not find a match but it is in your transactions? The only option it has is to create new but I don't want to have a duplicate.
I know how you can manage receipts from the banking page, @Franklinstaffing.
The receipts will immediately match the transaction once they are uploaded to QuickBooks Online. If the transactions are different, QuickBooks is unable to locate them. I recommend using the Find match option to search for a matching transaction. Here's how:
