Receipts wont match an expense unil a tag is attached to it, hope QuickBooks gets this fixed.

Hi there, @reliablehomebuy.

Let me provide you some information that will help you fix the issue.

QuickBooks will try to add a category, but you still need to review it in the account. Let me walk you through where you can manage and match your expense receipts in one place.

Here's how:

  1. Add receipts by going in the Banking menu.
  2. Select the Receipts tab.
  3. Drag and drop receipts directly into QuickBooks Online, or choose Browse to upload them.

Once done adding a receipt, it will show up in the For Review tab in the Receipts tab. From here, you can do the following:

  1. Edit the selected information for the receipt by selecting Review.
  2. Choose the Expenses menu, then Expenses from the New transaction dropdown if you want to create a new expense with the receipt attached.
  3. Choose Match if you're ready to match the receipt with an existing record in QuickBooks.

I've added this article to guide you on adding and matching downloaded bank transactions.

Please let me know if you have confusions. I'd be glad to help you as soon as I can. Have a blissful day and, take care!

Receipts wont match an expense unil a tag is attached to it, hope QuickBooks gets this fixed.

I know the process of uploading and matching the receipts. I usually upload my via via email, and expenses through my banking transactions. The issue I am having is it doesn't want to match if a tag is added to an expense that has already been created. I have to go back to the created matching expense and remove the tag to make the receipt match then add the tag back to the expense after the match has been done.

What do you do if the receipt does not find a match but it is in your transactions?  The only option it has is to create new but I don't want to have a duplicate.

I know how you can manage receipts from the banking page, @Franklinstaffing

The receipts will immediately match the transaction once they are uploaded to QuickBooks Online. If the transactions are different, QuickBooks is unable to locate them. I recommend using the Find match option to search for a matching transaction. Here's how:

  1. Open the Banking menu then click on Banking.
  2. Look for the account tile to open the right bank account.
  3. Locate the receipt transaction then click on View.
  4. Click the Find match radio button.
  5. Review the Matching record found and select the right transaction to link.
  6. Once done, click on Match.
