Recording deposits

Could someone PLEASE help me with deposits? (I am new to QBO)

 

We are a membership association and don't usually sell anything. We receive money from member dues & CE courses.

Currently, the only way for me to enter deposits, is by creating sales receipts. I need to forgo these. Our P&L reports our all wonky doing it this way. 

I need to be able to just enter deposits like I have always done in Desktop QB.

Recording deposits

Hi there, Kate. I can show you the steps for recording a bank deposit in QuickBooks Online (QBO).
 
In QBO, you can also record a bank deposit without making an invoice. Follow these steps on how to record it.
 
Here's how:
 

  1. Go to the +New icon. Then, select Bank deposit.
  2. Choose a preferred income account on which you want to deposit the funds.
  3. Locate Add funds to this deposit.
  4. Enter all the necessary information.
  5. Click Save and close.

Also, if you don't have a preferred income account, consider creating a new one. This way, you can track the dues and CE courses there.
