We're currently unable to customize the report for the balance sheet and income statement to remove the subtotal calculation part.
You'll want to export the report to Excel and manually remove the columns. I'll take note of your concern and submit it to our product engineers for a feature request.
We frequently update QuickBooks Desktop and this might be included in the future. To check for newly added features, you can go to Help > New Features > What's New.
