Buy nowCan someone help me create this report?
I want a report of all money spent during a specific time period whether it was payroll, taxes, insurance, fuel, etc...And it can be from credit card or bank account.
I have played around with multiple reports and custom reports and can't seem to customize anything to get this result.
Thank you.
Hi there,
I'm here to help you run the report you need to show all the money spent during a specific period.
In QuickBooks Online (QBO), we have the Transaction List by Date report that'll show a list of all your transactions, ordered by date. You can customize this to show all the money-out transactions. And I'll be happy to guide you on how.
From there, it'll display all the information you need. To help you utilize the Reports feature, check out this article: Run reports in QuickBooks Online. And if you need help customizing, you can visit this link: Customize reports in QuickBooks Online.
In addition, you can memorize the report to save its current customization settings. You can learn more about this process by checking out this resource: Memorize reports in QuickBooks Online.
If you have other concerns and questions about managing your QBO account, I'm always around to help. Take care, and I wish you continued success.
Well we are half way there.
I have this report. But you will see that the Account Name or Even the Split Account Name does not represent the Tax account or the Split account. I need it to say Equipment Rental or Cost of Goods Sold, not Accounts Payable. More than half my list is Accounts Payable. That is not helpful.
Can you please tell me which option to use on Customize to show Account Name correctly. You have restricted us cross referencing any data so I have exhausted all the options that I think it could be available to me in the checkboxes.
Hello, @lmoCDS. Thanks for adding more information.
If you're looking to create a report that provides a clear breakdown of transactions with their corresponding split accounts, you can use the "Transaction List with Splits" report. This provides a detailed view of each transaction and its associated splits, including the account names.
Follow these steps:
Here's an article that provides a few ways you can customize your reports to fit your business needs: Common Custom Reports.
You may also export them to Excel for more flexibility to use them. Simply click the Export icon and select Export to Excel.
Get back to me if you have follow-up questions about getting your desired report. I'd be glad to assist you further. Keep safe and have a good one!
Unfortunately, that report is pretty useless if QB has been listening to their users. The way it exports to excel prevents you from sorting, creating pivot tables, etc...It is a report that you practically have to print to get any data off of due to the layout of their being a singular line of data for most of the entries then the splits are tucked underneath without all the other data on their rows.
And as I mentioned before, I don't want to sort by pay account. Just like everyone else we want to sort by our Tax category (account) which used to be called Account Name in the old reports.
Thanks for getting back to us, lmoorecalvarydevsvcs.
Since the steps mentioned above by my colleagues didn't do the trick, I recommend reaching out to a member of the QuickBooks Online Support Team. It always helps to get a visual and agents have the ability to share your screen to work toward getting the correct report you're looking for. Additionally, they'll be able to submit feedback on your behalf for even more specific report settings if need be. Here's how to get in touch with the team:
1. Click the Help button in the top right corner and click Talk to a human.
2. Type in "Talk to a human", then press Enter.
3. Look for I still need a human and click on it.
4. Select Get help from a human.
5. Choose between Chat with us or Have us call you.
The following article provides these steps if you ever need them again in the future: QuickBooks Online Support
Please don't hesitate to reach back out if you have any other questions or concerns. I'll be here to help in any way that I can.
