Hi. I am using QB Desktop.
I'd like to do a report wherein I can find who are the NEW customers for the current year.
Manually, I can look at each customer's history, and see when the first invoice was sent. However, this is cumbersome when there are more than 50 customers.
Is there a way to get the entire customer data exported to excel, including history? I could then do some of this in Excel. Or is there an an alternative way to do this?
Thanks.

@Ivan_G RE: However, we can utilize the Customer Contact List report to determine when you started creating transactions for them. To do so, let's enable and customize the Start Date column:
What? No, the Start Date does not in any way tell you when you started creating transactions for a customer.
The Start Date is one of the Job fields. It can be empty or it can contain a value the user has entered - any value:
Why do I know this when you don't? It's literally your job to know how QuickBooks works...
It's possible to export QuickBooks reports to Excel, pharmaboy. I can show you how and provide the report we can run based on your needs by navigating through the Reports Center.
We can optimize the Transaction List by Customer report to have a complete view of the transactions under each customer in a given period:
Meanwhile, there's no specific option to determine when you've added your customer to the system. We can only identify the Start Date you've entered on the Job linked to them. If you want to check it out, let's utilize the Customer Contact List report:
Finally, you may also save your report customization for future use. It helps save time in the modification process as it memorizes your previous inputs on its data.

Yes, you could do this. I'd start with the Transaction Detail report found on the Reports menu under Custom Reports.
On the Filters tab for the report:
- Add the Detail Level filter and set it to Summary Only.
- Add the Name filter and select All Customer:Jobs.
- Remove the Date filter.
The resulting report will show all posting transactions for every customer. If you also want to include Estimates, then on the Filters tab Add the Posting Status filter and set it to Either.
Once the report runs, send it to Excel and then process it from there to get the oldest transaction for each customer, which for you may be a reasonable stand-in for when the customer was added.

Another way to do it, which is easier, is to use our BRC List Reporter It pulls records directly from QuickBooks and creates reports in Excel from the records. Using it you can select various data fields from your customer records (name, address, phone, and so on) and also the calculated fields First Sale Date and Last Sale Date. Then, for your purposes, you can sort the resulting report by First Sale Date to see your recently added customers.
There's also a Creation Order field available, and you can sort the customers that was as well:
For example, a report the product created from a QB Sample company:
Thanks to all for these ideas which I am trying out! Gary
