Buy nowWhy are there so many restrictions on reports for Sales and Inventory when employees already have access Sales and inventory in QBO?
Ridiculous that people have to be put as Admin to see these reports when they are already using inventory in purchasing and at the warehouse. Same with Sales people. Need fixed and less restrictions!
Hi there, Scott4j.
Welcome back to the QuickBooks Community. With this, I'll ensure to share additional details about how users work in QuickBooks Online.
QuickBooks Online lets you add users who help with your company's bookkeeping. You can give each user certain permissions to do specific tasks. You can also choose what users can see and do within different areas of QuickBooks like customers and sales or vendors and purchases. With this, I suggest making sure that you set up the user as a Custom. This user can have specific access to areas in QuickBooks Online including running any Sales and Inventory reports. This gives you even more control over what they see or do. Please note that this is only available in QuickBooks Online Advanced.
Here's how:
To see additional information, you can click this article: Add and manage custom roles in QuickBooks Online Advanced.
If you're using the QuickBooks Online Essential and Plus version, you have the option to set your employees as Standard users that give them all access. That way, they're able to see several reports. Please keep in mind that they can also access a batch of features in QuickBooks Online. You can open this article to view further details: User roles and access rights in QuickBooks Online.
Please refer to this article to see steps on how you can remove a particular user from your account: Add and manage users in QuickBooks Online.

I appreciate the response, but unless i give someone full Admin permissions, I have not been able to set up a user to see the Reports under Products and Services. If you have the steps that i can do that without full admin permissions, that would be great.
I'll help with your concern about user permissions in QBO, Scott4j.
I added a couple of non-admin users in my QBO and they were able to run reports in the Products and Services section.
It's possible that there's an issue with the user profile itself. You'll want to temporarily delete and add the user back again in QBO. Then, check if they're able to run the report by following these steps:
Just in case the users are still unable to run the report, I would suggest reaching out to our chat and support teams. They can take a closer look at this to determine why they're unable to run the report.
Here's an article on how to reach out to them: QuickBooks Online Support.

Was this ever fixed for you Scott4j? I have the same issue with my Accounting Clerk not being able to run the P&L by Tag Group report. Only the admin users can run it.
any help would be greatly appreciated!
Let me share further details about non-admin users' access and guide you a way to make sure they can run the report they need in QuickBooks Online (QBO), @Luis_G.
Non-admin (Standard) users with All and Limited access should be able to run reports like the Profit and Loss by Tag Group report. There may be an issue with your clerks' profile that's why they're unable to access the said report.
With that being said, I'd recommend deleting and then re-adding the user to your QBO account. This will refresh their access and let then run the report they need.
To delete a user, here's how:
Then, re-add your accounting clerk and customize their role and permissions for specific tasks. For the step-by-step guide, please refer to this article: Add and manage users in QuickBooks Online.
