Sales by client report

How do I filter by PO number in the Sales by customer detail report in the new enhanced view? In the classic view PO is an option in the filter, it is not an option in the new view.

It's good to see you here, @ldietz. Let me share some steps for filtering Purchase Order numbers in the Sales by Customer Detail report in QuickBooks Online (QBO).

To customize the Sales by Customer report and add the PO number in the new enhanced view, follow the steps below to do so:

  1. Go to Reports and choose Sales by Customer Detail report.
  2. In the Filter, click Transaction type.
  3. Select equals in the Operation
  4. Choose Purchase Order for the Value
  5. Click the +Add Filter button.
  6. In the Filter, select No., then click contains in the Operations.
  7. Enter the Value based on your PO number.
  8. Once done, hit Save

See this photo as your reference.

On the other hand, I recommend sending feedback to the specific report layout. In this way, it will enhance our product features and fit your business standards. See the attached photo for sending feedback.

I followed all those steps (tried it with multiple PO #'s all of which I know have sales) and it returns "Your selection doesn’t have any info. Change your selection or start a new search."

Thanks for getting back to us, @ldietz. Let me chime in and share some additional information about the Purchase Order number.

Purchase orders are vendor-specific transactions and will not show in the Sales by Customer Detail report in the enhanced view. You'll have to convert the purchase order to a bill, and then set this up as a billable expense to link this to sales.

On the other hand, you can run other reports, like a Transaction list by date report, to view the purchased orders or the billable expenses to keep track of these transactions on your end. You can refer to the screenshot below:

Moreover, you can memorize your reports to save the changes you made in your reports.

Let us know if you have other questions aside from managing your reports in QuickBooks Online. Our team will be here to extend our hands to help you out.

Neither of those options seem to be working. Can you tell me, which enhanced report and how do I run it so that I input a PO number and I see all the invoices/sales that I have against a specific PO?

For example, here is what I would do in the "Classic Mode", how would I do this in Enhanced view?

1) Sales by client detail

2) Customize report

3) Under "filter" Enter PO number in PO field

4) Run

Hi there, @ldietz.

Enhanced view for Sales by Client Report showing PO number (custom field) filters is currently unavailable. This feature is still new and will improve in the long run. In the meantime, you can only use the classic mode to filter the PO number to run the report. I recommend sending feedback to our product engineers to add your vote about this feature.

Here's how:

  1. Select the Gear icon and choose Feedback.
  2. Fill in your suggestions in the Feedback field.
  3. Select Next to send it.

Also, you can learn how to print, email, and export reports in QuickBooks Online by following this article: Run reports in QuickBooks Online.

Aside from filtering the PO number in the enhanced view report of Sales by Client Report, do you have any other concerns? I'm here to help you anytime.
