My client is asking for a report that will generate out of QuickBooks data that displays the total sales for a time period for only sales that sell above a certain gross profit margin. The challenge with the report is that it requires a calculation for each sale and isn't something you can filter for. It relates to a bonus calculation. I know QuickBooks itself does not have the capability to do this. Does QuickBooks Advanced Reporting have the capability or is there an add-on that could do this?
Thanks for posting your concern here, Violet.
I'm here to provide you some insights about QuickBooks Advanced Reporting.
In QuickBooks, the reports only show a profit margin of 100%. Please know that the program will always separate the quantity and sales for inventory and assembly items.
Let me share some tips on how to find the right data to use on your reports.
I encourage you to get in touch with our Customer Support Team, to verify if QuickBooks Advanced Reporting is available in QuickBooks Enterprise Suite. Here's how to reach them:
Additionally, I recommend these articles below to help you speed up the reporting process in the program:

The goal isn't to show the profit margin necessary it is to eliminate sales with a small profit margin from the report. In essence to only show sales that are over a profit margin of let's say 25%. They have a calculation they need to make and they need to only include sales with a larger profit margin.
They have already purchased advanced reporting so I know it is available. I just don't know if that type of report is something that can be created in advanced reporting.
Thanks for the suggestions but these links only provide the most basic information. I am a CPA and a QuickBooks Proadvisor so I'm already very familiar with the basic information provided. I'm looking for a more advanced solution as the basic ones won't work. I'd also love to see some ProAdvisor training or more detailed information on the advanced reporting. Something that goes beyond the links that are available online. I've already done a deep dive through them.
I've also talked to customer service before on the Proadvisor line and no one can help me with the advanced reporting questions (I've tried many times). This is why I posed this question to the message board hoping another QB Proadvisor might know.
