The little arrow at the top right to add billable expense to an invoice is missing - why?

Let me help you sort this out, @BGC2.

There may be no open billable expenses to be added on the invoice. You’ll want to check if there are bill expenses that were added on the invoice or not.

You can pull up the Unbilled Time report and compare it to the Time Activities by Customer Detail report. The Unbilled Time report lists products/services (time activities) provided by your employees that have not yet been billed.

Let me show you how:

  1. Go to Reports.
  2. Enter Unbilled Time in the search box.
  3. Set the date range under Time Activity Date.
  4. Click Run report.

I have open billable expenses. When I open an invoice to add them, the little arrow at the top right appears briefly then disappears. Also, "copy"(at the bottom, under "more") may or may not work - works for invoices, does not work for bills.

I'm here to continue the help, BGC2.

We can switch to a private browser to check if the cache is causing this issue with the missing arrow that is used to add billable expenses as well as the Copy option of your bills. A private browser doesn't store data in the cache, which makes it the best place for isolating browser issues.

Here's how:

  • Google Chrome: Ctrl + Shift + N
  • Microsoft Edge: Ctrl + Shift + P
  • Firefox: Ctrl + Shift + P
  • Safari: Command + Shift + N

From there, try recreating the invoice and adding the billable expense. You will see the arrow on the right part of the transaction where the list of billable expenses can be found and added.

With regards to the Copy option on your Bills, this will be available once you save the transaction. See sample screenshot below:

If everything is working fine, you can go back to regular browsing then clear the cache to refresh the system. Otherwise, you can try using other supported browsers to be thorough.

Be sure to get back to me if you have follow-up questions. I'm always happy to help. Have a good day!
