Trial balance

It's good to see you, @ayah-abdullah202.

I know this could be beneficial if we can customize the Trial Balance report by location.

Also, this report could be complicated to compare and combine with other reports that include location since it only indicates the total account balance.

To dig and create a specific report, you can pull up the Profit and Loss by Location, Account List, Transaction Detail by Account, and other QuickBooks report to analyze the numbers and come up with a Trial Balance by Location with the help of an accountant as your professional consultant.

In addition, to combine financial reports, you can click the Export button and select Export Excel to add or change the format manually.

I've added some guides so you can effectively come up with robust and reliable customized reports:

Thank you for returning to this conversation, @ayah-abdullah202.

Trial Balance is a compact report that displays the debit and credit balances of each account on your chart of accounts over time. As my colleague discussed above, the ability to customize it to show locations is unavailable.

You may consider running the Journal report. This has precise information about your business's transactions. This will also show all of the accounts affected by a specific transaction as well as the debit and credit balances. Then, you can customize it to add a location column. Let me show you how:

  1. Open your QuickBooks Online (QBO) account and click the Reports menu.
  2. From the search field, enter Journal and click the report to open.
  3. Set the correct report period date and click the Customize button.
  4. Scroll down to the Rows/Columns section and click Change columns.
  5. You can remove columns you don't need by unchecking the box. Then, check the box beside Location to add it to the report.
  6. Next, you can also filter the report to show specific or all accounts. Simply check the Account option under Filter and choose the accounts you need from the drop-down.
  7. Once done, select Run report.

See this article for more details on the report customization procedure: Customize reports in QuickBooks Online.

Getting a handy copy of your reports is a breeze in QBO. To do this, you can either print, email, or export your desired reports.
