Hi All,
I am new to the Income and Expense report graphic functions, and like how the report features the percentages of income by customer within the month of October. This looks fairly accurate, but do not understand where the total $131,050.11 is pulled from. Is this the total revenue received during the month of October or the amount billed in October? This $ figure does NOT match the total income value in the cash basis P&L for October. The cash basis P&L report Total Income value is $120,032.02
Can anyone explain why the values are different? I want to make sure I understand what this report means. Would the Graph by Customer value of $131,050.11 show up on different reports other than the P&L for October?
Thanks so much in advance for your comments and help in understanding this graph!
When you total the graph by customer, you filter out all income not associated with a customer. To see the same data as on a standard P&L, total the graph by account. If you do that, then do the numbers match the P&L?
Hello BigRed Consulting,
Thank you for your reply and the Income Summary Graph by Account is almost the same $ value as the P&L for October. October's P&L has a Total Income Value of $120,032.02, and the Income Summary by Account Sub-Total is $120,055.18. that is a difference of $23.16 more on the Income Summary by Account, and I do not know why that would be different.
The income summary by customer graph looks straightforward but the difference between this and October's P&L is $11,018.09 (Income Summary by Customer being the higher amount) and I am unable to explain it. Any thoughts?
I don't know why they're different. One thing to try is to quick-zoom into the details by clicking on the chart object, which will create more detailed charts and then eventually transaction detail reports, which you can then compare to similar details from the P&L (again by double-clicking the totals on the P&L).
