What a poorly coded piece of software Quickbooks is. Trying to pay a bill but I can't mark the bill as paid because a "Schedule online payment" button is covering it up.

So now I'm being forced to go to the schedule online payment page or quit the bill payment.

Glad to have you here on the Community page, @abid.

You can mark the bill as paid by recording a check manually. Here's how:

  1. Click on Pay Bills under Vendors from the Plus (+) icon.
  2. Select a payment account and add a payment date.
  3. Look for the bill from the lists of bills, then enter the payment amount.
  4. Tap on Save to record the payment or Save and print if you wish to print it.

That's like telling us that you updated a car so now it can't turn left and now all we have to do is go to the next corner, turn right, go to the next corner, turn right, go to the next corner, turn right and then, at the intersection we originally would have turned left, just go straight and, "voila," it's the SAME thing.  You are so obsessed with value-add, you are ruining a piece of software that is still far short of the desktop version.  SHAME ON YOU!!!

Exactly!  And very well put.  If Intuit is wanting to piss off customers, this is a good strategy.  Has anyone looked at Xero?  I am looking into how good they are.

I've been trying to get them to fix this for 45 days now.  They keep saying it's a known issue and that they are working on it.  With five businesses running QBO, it now adds hours to my work to use this 'work around'.  Pathetic.

1. QBO is getting worse with these "feature additions" that deliberately obliterate the sensible workflow we're all used to. Instead of adding a new button along side (especially as the Online Bill Pay IS STILL IN BETA!) the buttons we were all used to, they opt to remove functionality ... probably to come with higher subscriptions and fees.

That being said ... I think I found my workaround.

Select the drop down menu on any single bill and click "Mark as Paid"

From there , you can select as many bills as you'd like to mark paid, print a check from your account, and all the same features that used to be directly accessible from the main transaction list.
