What time of day do recurring invoices get sent

Thank you for the response. I have 89 recurring invoices and sales receipts that go out on the 1st of every month. Usually they go out after midnight like you said, but none of them have went out today and it’s 4pm here now and customers are calling asking me why they didn’t get their bill this month. Are they for sure getting sent out today?

Thanks for getting back here, @northwestblair.

Let's start with checking the status of recurring invoices, you'll see the sent word if it is already sent to your customer. Here's how:

  1. Go to the Customers menu.
  2. Look for the customer's name with the recurring invoice. You’ll see Open (Sent) in the Status column.
  3. Click the invoice. From there, you’ll see a Last Delivery timestamp.

For more details, please see this article: Manage recurring transactions.

If your customers still not receiving the invoices, below are the possible reasons and how you can fix it:

First, reset your email address:

  1. Select the Settings icon.
  2. Under Your Company, click Account and Settings.
  3. In the Contact info section, review each email address, and then make changes as needed.
  4. Hit Save and then Done.

If it does not work, ask your customers to check their junk mail and spam folders. If the email is still not found, clear and then re-enter your email address:

  1. Navigate to the Settings menu.
  2. Under Your Company, select Account and Settings.
  3. In the Contact info section, hit Email.
  4. Clear the Company email field and enter the desired address, even if it appears correct as is. (Note: Be sure not to use any extra characters or spaces before, within, or after the address you enter).
  5. Hit Save and then Done.
  6. Send yourself a test transaction.
  7. If you still don't receive the email, try using a different email address that has a different domain (for instance, if you were using a Gmail email address, try a Hotmail or Yahoo address instead).

If the issue persists after the troubleshooting steps above, you may follow Solution 3 in this article:  Configure the server to accept QuickBooks Online mail server hostnames and IP addresses

Also, to get a list of all your recurring transactions and the accounts they're linked to in QuickBooks, you may pull up the Recurring Template List. To do so, please follow the steps in this article: Review your recurring transactions in QuickBooks Online.

Keep me posted if you have any other concerns about sending your recurring invoice in QBO. I'm always here to help. Have a great day ahead.

What time of day do recurring invoices get sent

None of that answered my question and that was a pretty far off answer. I have 89 recurring invoices that go out EVERY MONTH on the 1st. There hasn’t been any issues with this until today. Nothing is wrong with my email. My customers haven’t received anything because the invoices and sales receipts haven’t been sent out. They all say they will send out on 11/1 again. Well that’s today and it’s 5pm here and none of them have sent. They always have sent out in the morning during previous months. I have not changed anything and these are not new recurring invoices/sales receipts. I have talked to other quickbooks users today and their recurring all went out in the middle of the night just after midnight.

Thanks for keeping us posted, northwestblair.

With details provided in this thread, there is a possibility that the recurring templates are damaged. Aside from that, it can also be caused by piled-up cache. It helps your browser's background processes run smoothly. However, it can also cause issues when piled up. Here's how to get rid of any-cache related concerns:

  1. Open a private browser and log in to your QBO account. It uses but doesn't store cache.
  2. If the invoices and sale receipts are sent successfully, we can go back to your regular browser and clear the cache.
  3. Other supported browsers are good alternatives, too. Each of them uses a different cache.

If the same thing happens, the possibility of the templates being damaged is likely to happen. The only way to fix this is to delete and recreate the templates.

Before doing that, I'd recommend contacting our Customer Care Team. They can pull up and review your account. Then, they can give you further steps on how you can get the recurring templates working again.

Let us know how this goes so we can check what else we can do on our end. We'll be right here.
