I recognize the urgency to save your edited invoices in QuickBooks Online (QBO). I've got some steps to help you out.

 

If you're using the new invoice layout, please note that there's an ongoing investigation (INV-94397) related to your invoice issue. Rest assured, our product engineers are currently working to identify the root cause of the problem and provide a solution. I recommend contacting our phone or chat support to be added to the list of affected users and receive email notifications.

 

However, if you're utilizing the old invoice design, the problem is caused by the browser's cache build-up. In this case, you can perform some basic troubleshooting. You can start by opening a private or incognito window to rule out cache issues. Here are the shortcut keys:

 

  • For Mozilla Firefox browser: Ctrl + Shift + P
  • For Google Chrome browser: Ctrl + Shift + N
  • For Safari browser: Command + Shift + N

 

Next, you can log in to your QBO account and check if you can save the edited invoice. If it works, you can clear your browser's cache. This removes the webpage data that’s causing the problem.

 

If using a private browser doesn't work, you can use other installed supported browsers as another option.

Thank you for your reply. The issue has been occurring with the new design (estimates and invoices), not the old design. Is there a way to go back to the old design for now until the glitches are fixed?

I understand the urgency of fixing the issue with your new invoice layout. Let me share some helpful details about switching to your invoice layout in QuickBooks Online (QBO).

 

The newest QBO update will prompt customers to switch from the old invoice layout to the new one. If you're using QBO Essential, Plus, and Advance, you can change back to the old layout of invoices. However, if you're using QBO Simple Start, switching back to the old layout is no longer available.

 

Here's how:

 

  1. Go to the +New button.
  2. Under the Customers column, select Invoice.
  3. In the upper-right corner of the screen, click the Old Layout button.
  4. Read the prompt that will pop up on your screen.
  5. Once you're ready, click the Leave button.
