When emailing a sales receipt, how can I add links into the body of the email (not attachment)?

Thanks for checking in with us, CentralOfficeBookstore.

Aside from the Attachments field, we can manually enter the links in the Body section when sending a sales receipt. Just tick the Save and send button and add the links in the Body field. For more details about sending sales receipts, see the Create and send sales receipts in QuickBooks Online article for more details. If you need to customize the transactions, just follow the steps and details in the Customize invoices, estimates, and sales receipts in QuickBooks Online article.

When emailing a sales receipt, how can I add links into the body of the email (not attachment)?

I have attempted to add links in the body of the email, however, that field is formatted to Plain Text. My links are not active. How can I change the email body field tp HTML?

I'm happy to see you again here in the Community, @IFAA.

Let me provide additional insights regarding adding links to the body of the email in QuickBooks Online.

The links will be displayed as plain text once added to the body of the invoice email in QBO. Changing it to an HTML format isn't available.

To share a link to your customers, you can add them as plain text. For more tips about the customization that can be applied on the sales forms in QBO, please scan through this link: Learn how to personalize and add specific info to sales forms.

I can see how adding the option to edit the format body section of the invoices could help your business exemplify its style. Know that our developers are constantly considering new features to be added to the system to improve the product.

I'd encourage you to check out our QuickBook Online Blog site regularly to be updated with our latest product updates.

Please let me know if there's anything else I can do to be of assistance. I'm always here to provide help and answer any questions that you may have. Cheers.

I figured it out for my page! You have to copy and paste the following code:

1. line red, go to your Google account and copy and paste the link there.

2. Green part what text display you want there.

I have my business website and cope and paste this little code into the message to customer

<!DOCTYPE html>
<html>
<head>
<title>HTML Hyperlinks</title>
</head>

<body>

</p>
</body>

Insert your code there and change the green part to the link in Google or Facebook and change the red part to display the text

I was able to try this and it appeared to work when I looked at the preview, but when I went to send an invoice, the email showed the entire code. Is there something I'm missing here?

When emailing a sales receipt, how can I add links into the body of the email (not attachment)?

Hello there, Dani.

I'll share some information regarding the availability to add active links to the email when sending transactions.

QuickBooks Online (QBO) allows users to add a message manually or by default when mailing sales receipts. It's indeed convenient to share links if these can be added directly to the body of the email. However, this option is currently not available within QBO. Hence, I recommend sending your suggestions to our Product Development Team. Your ideas might be included in our future product updates to improve customer experience.

Here's how:

1. Head to the Gear icon.

2. Select Feedback.

3. Share your comments or product improvement ideas.

4. Click Next to submit.

Consider checking on the progress of your feature requests by visiting our Customer Feedback for QuickBooks Online website.

In the meantime, you can follow @aforpainting's workaround above to help you add links when sending transactions to your customers.

You might also want to utilize a third-party application and visit this page to look for one: QuickBooks App Store | Online Tools to Power Your Business.

On the other hand, you can review this material to guide you in personalizing the layout and appearance of your sales forms to improve your business communication: Customize invoices, estimates, and sales receipts in QuickBooks Online.

Please don't hesitate to click the Reply button to update us in the thread if you have additional questions when sending sales receipts and other transactions in QBO. We're always here to lend a hand.
