Thanks for trying to help me. Neither of these suggestions solved the problem. I attached snips of what i see when I click on TAXES.
I have scoured help and it keeps coming back to the "Related Task" menu that I can't find.
The blue choices in the upper right do not lead to it either.
I did a practice invoice and noticed that taxes it was trying to charge were incorrect. That's is what started my search for fixing them.
I noticed today that my address was showing up with garbage between my number and the Street. I changed the 1/4 on my number to .25 and QB's came up with the correct taxes at my location. So, i know that i can get a correct invoice and that it will follow thru to the correct accounts- AR and liabilities....
Still where is the "Related Tasks" menu.
Hi there, @brendalobach,
Thanks for providing a screenshot. This gives me a better idea of why you're not seeing the Related Task menu on your Sales Tax tab.
I can see you're using the Automated Sales Tax feature in QuickBooks Online. The Related Task menu is only available on the old sales tax set up.
If you want to switch back to manual sales tax collection, you can follow the steps listed below:

That answers your concern for today. Let me know if you have follow-up questions with the Sales Tax set up in QuickBooks. I'm always glad to help.
Hi Mary, the screen shot is the only thing that comes up when i click taxes. There is no choice of SalesTax or Payroll tax. I have my own sign in with my two clients. Without picking one of the clients I can click on Taxes and get those two choices. But I am not yet using QB for my business of helping these clients. I am assigned "accountant" privileges for my client. I need to change their tax rates.....
Or does my doing what you say on my home page change the clients too?
Thanks, Brenda
Thank you for getting back to us, @brendalobach.
I'd be happy to provide some details about your sales tax and help you.
The taxes set up on your accountant account is for your account only. When you change the sales tax on your account, it won't change the taxes on your clients'.
As mentioned by my colleague above, you're currently using the Automated Sales Tax in QuickBooks. The Related Tasks box was part of the old sales tax.
In the Automated Sales Tax, you don't need to enter the rates as this automatically tracks your sales tax. You only need to set up the correct agency and correct city for your sales tax.

Fill me in if you have any other questions. I'll be around to help.
Is there a way to turn off automated taxes?? I need my local county tax and the village tax rate. When I service a home in the village I need to record it as a different tax rate.
Hello there, mhcaf. I'm happy to have you here.
Have you migrated from manual sales tax to automated one? If so, you can turn it off by following the steps below:
It only allows you to turn off if you haven't collected sales tax on the items. You may want to delete the items you've created first for the sales tax to successfully turning this off.
However, there isn't a way to switch back to the manual sales tax once you're using an automated sales tax once you turn this off. I'd recommend contacting our specialist to guide you in doing this.
Here's how to contact them:
Please know that I'm always here anytime you need more help with this. Have a great day! Take care!
