I'll make sure to help you today, @clearlybetterbus.

You can cancel your business account and still have read-only access to your data for one year.

Let me show you how to do it:

  1. Click on the Gear icon.
  2. Select Account and Settings.
  3. Click the Billing & Subscription tab.
  4. Select Cancel in the QuickBooks section.
  5. Follow the next steps.
  6. Click on Submit and cancel subscription.
  7. Click Got it.

I am not sure how the accounts are aligned and I don't want to cancel the wrong account. I need help in making sure I cancel the correct account. I want to keep the Rivers of Hope Counseling account but it appears they have the same name. The account that is debiting the credit card ending in 4838 needs to be canceled. My CPA has my account through quickbooks and the Quickbooks fee is included in his fee. I did try to set up a personal account at one point and time and that is the one I would like to cancel

Thanks for the details,

I know a way on how you can make sure that you cancelled the correct account.

You can temporarily change the company name of the account that you want to cancel. This way, it would be easier to identify which account should stay or to cancel. Here's how:

  1. From the Gear icon, select Account and settings.
  2. On the Company tab, click the Company name section.
  3. You can enter To Cancel as the Company name.
  4. Click Save and then Done.

I've also added this article that has information on how you can use the accountant's file transfer service: Learn about the Accountant's File Transfer Service.

Let me know if you have other concerns. I'll get back to you the soonest!
