When trying to create an invoice i get this error, call succeed but payload is empty

Let me provide some information on the error you experienced when creating an invoice, rridgerock.

Beforehand, may I ask what device you're using when creating the invoice? Providing further information would help us understand the issue better and offer the most accurate resolution.

If you use a mobile app with an iOS device, you can offload your iPhone to refresh its data.

To do it, here's how:

  1. Go to Settings, then tap General.
  2. Tap iPhone Storage, then tap the QuickBooks Online app.
  3. Tap Offload App.

If you use an Android device otherwise, visit this article to refresh your data on Android.

Also, be sure to download the latest version to have updated information on your QuickBooks Online app.

If you experience this issue on a mobile or computer browser, you can log in using incognito mode or a private window. This will not store cache files that may cause unusual behavior in the program.

Use these shortcut keys to sign in via a computer browser:

  • Google Chrome: press Ctrl + Shift + N
  • Mozilla Firefox: press Ctrl + Shift + P
  • Microsoft Edge: press Ctrl + Shift + N
  • Safari: press Command + Shift + N

Next, create the invoice. When it works, clear the cache of your regular browser to eliminate piled-up data. If the issue persists, you can use another supported browser or device.

Furthermore, check out this article to discover how to customize and include specific details in your sales forms based on your preferred format of invoices, estimates, and sales receipts in QBO: Customize invoices, estimates, and sales receipts in QuickBooks Online.

Thanks for dropping by here today, rridgerock. We look forward to having you here again if you need further assistance on any invoice-related concerns. Keep safe and have a good one!
