When uploading transactions, I made a mistake and advised to list debits as credits but I don't know how to fix this. I even tried to with journal entry but doesn't work.

I truly need someone to help me to do this because I have to fix two months worth of transactions. Or can I remove those transactions and start again?

Hello, metromuttscorp.

I've got your back, and I have the step-by-step process on how to correct those manually uploaded bank transactions.

Yes, you can still remove those transactions and reupload them with the correct debit and credit mapping. We can start by deleting the journal entry first:

  1. Go to Accounting, then Chart of Accounts.
  2. Find the bank account where the journal entry was recorded under.
  3. Click the View register link.
  4. Find and select the journal entry.
  5. Click Delete

I take it that you've already added those transactions. In this case, you'll want to remove them from your books:

  1. Go to the Transactions menu, then click the Banking tab.
  2. Click the Categorized tab.
  3. Check the transactions you want to remove.
  4. Click Undo

They will be moved to the For review tab. Lastly, you'll want to delete those uncategorized transactions and reupload them with the correct debit and credit mapping:

  1. In the For review tab, check the transactions you want to remove.
  2. Click the Exclude button.
  3. Go to the Excluded tab.
  4. Check those transactions again.
  5. Hit Delete

@metromuttscorp

As an additional option, you may utilize a deleter and/or an importer tool.

Hi James,

Hope you had a great Thanksgiving. Thank you for helping me.

My Quickbooks doesn't have a delete option. I followed the instructions, however they move from Uncategorized to For Review without actually deleting.

Do you know what else I can do?

I hope you have a great Thanksgiving as well, @metromuttscorp.

Thank you for following up with us about your concern with deleting the uploaded banking transactions. I'm here to help you remove them successfully from the Banking page.

Since the transactions are now on the For Review column, you can follow these steps to take them out from there.

  1. On the For Review section, select the transactions you want to delete, then click on the Exclude button.
  2. Once done, switch to the Excluded column, then choose the transactions again.
  3. Choose Delete to fully get rid of those data.

For an additional guide in managing downloaded bank and credit card transactions in QuickBooks Online, you can check out this article: Categorize and match online bank transactions in QuickBooks Online.

By the time you'll reconcile your account, you can also read the instructions from this link as your references.
