When using QB app on iPad (not iPhone), app will often time out/exit when trying to save estimates, invoices, etc. I’ve updated/re-downloaded app. Please advise or fix.

When using QB app on iPad (not iPhone), app will often time out/exit when trying to save estimates, invoices, etc. I’ve updated/re-downloaded app. Please advise or fix.

I'll be here to help you sort it out. Let's go ahead and check your setting timeout duration in QuickBooks. Which you can adjust the time up to 3 hours maximum and will be signed out once inactivity. This timeout helps prevent unauthorized persons from accessing your data, especially when you're away from your computer.

 

Here's how: 

 

  1. Click the Gear icon and select Accounts and Settings
  2. In the Advanced tab, scroll down to view the Other preferences section. Then, click the Edit icon. 
  3. Tap the Sign me out if inactive for drop-down arrow, and select 3 hours. 
  4. Press Save then Done

I see how uneasy dealing with the auto log-off. However, it's how QuickBooks design to protect your data and from unauthorized people. Make sure to save the information or any transaction we've entered before the setup hours come. Otherwise, we'll have to do it and start entering the data again.
