Why can't I open a second invoice in QB Online with latest MacOS and Safari 16? Can open and edit first one fine. For 2nd one, just see an animation, then nothing.

Elaborating: I can click New Invoice one time, and it loads a blank invoice normally. If I try to do the same action in the same session, a page-opening animation shows (four rotating dots), then nothing happens. I can sign out and back in to create a new invoice, and it works fine. I am using Safari 16.1. The same behavior occurs in Chrome 107.

Adding info: After launching and filling out the first invoice and closing it, no links on the list of invoices works. For example, if I click the pencil icon to edit an invoice, or I click Receive Payment, nothing happens at all.

These behaviors are true in both Safari and Chrome for Mac.

Let me provide you with some details about why you're having invoice issues with the browser you're using, will67.

QuickBooks Online (QBO)  is currently supporting Safari 11 or newer (Mac only) browsers for the best experience. To avoid issues, you'll want to use the following supported browsers:

  • Google Chrome
  • Mozilla Firefox. Note: To preview and print forms on Mac OS, you'll also need the Firefox PDF plugin.
  • Microsoft Edge
  • Safari 11 or newer (Mac only)

You can also use the browser health checkup tool to check if the current browser you're using is compatible with your computer. Also, for the recommended browsers and internet speed that you'll have to use with QBO, check out this article for more information: System Requirements For QuickBooks Online, Accountant, Payroll, And QuickBooks Self-Employed.

In case you're still getting the same results when using a supported browser, here are some troubleshooting steps that you can perform. Learn from this article for more details: Troubleshooting browser problems.

Let us know if you have any questions when creating an invoice. I'll be right here to help.

Thanks, Maria.

Please note carefully what I wrote:

* I am using Safari 16. You suggested Safari 11 or later.

* I am using the latest Chrome.

* I got a 403 error on the browser health page.

* I looked at the browser tips, and none pose an issue. I am on the latest Mac OS, and I have a 200 mbps connection.

* I can create ONE invoice per session. After creating one, I cannot create another. I need to sign out and back in. That suggests that my browser settings are good enough for a single transaction, but then something goes wrong.

Please note carefully what I wrote.

  • I am using Safari 16; you suggested Safari 11 or later.
  • I am using Chrome, latest version.
  • I can create ONE invoice normally. After saving that invoice, nothing else works on that page.
  • My workaround is to sign out every time I want to create an invoice. That's a workaround, but it's a pain.

What I really need is an answer that addresses the symptoms I described. If I can sign in and create one invoice, that suggests that my browser settings, connection speed and other tech requirements are met.
