Why is there no Purchase Order under Custom Form Styles? I need a template for purchasing.

Hello,

Have you made sure PO's are turned on?  (picture below)

Yes we have been using Purchase Orders but I am trying to modify the Custom Form. The choices for a new form are Sales, Invoice or Estimate.

This may or may not shock everyone. In QBO, they still don't have a customizable "Purchase Order" form style template.

I also heard DOCX file import for "Estimate" was not working either.

Thanks for joining this thread, JPNG08.

We haven't received any updates about adding the purchase order (PO) option under Custom forms styles.

While you can only customize the invoice, estimate, and sales receipt in this section, here are the options and things you can do in your PO:

  • Add custom fields
  • Customize the transaction number.

I'm glad to guide you through the steps in customizing the tempale

  1. Click the Gear icon then select Account and Settings.
  2. Go to the Expenses tab, then click Purchase orders to expand it.
  3. Select the boxes for your fields and custom transaction numbers.
  4. Enter your message in the Default message on purchase orders box.
  5. Click Save, then Done.

Learn how PO works and how to use it in QuickBooks Online through this article: Create purchase orders.

For now, you can visit the Product Updates page to know what's new and coming in QuickBooks. Feel free to explore available topics to learn the latest features in the system.

Thanks Mary,

I already got that bit. My problem is the current style comes with an Approved line and date which I can't fill prior to sending. see below

How do I get rid of that or get it signed prior to Save & Send?

Thanks for the quick reply, @JPNG08.

I can see that having this feature is a great part and can help your business needs. You can sign the Approved by and Date by printing the PO form. However, if you will email, you're unable to sign the form.  Rest assured, I'll take note of this behalf and send feedback to our Product Engineers. So this will be considered in the future product enhancement.

We listen to customers’ ideas and suggestions as it contributes significantly to developing product enhancements. You can always visit the QuickBooks Blog site to check the latest feature added to the application.

Don't hesitate to add a comment below if you have another concern. I'm always here to help. Have a great day.

Yeah, if your design team just remove it from the style or allow us to customise the PO layout that would be better.
