I have reluctantly changed from QB Mac to Online. On my home page in QB Mac I had the option of viewing my year over year income by month, year etc. On QB online I can't find such a report? Is it missing?
Also on my QB Mac I when I ran a P&L comparison report, it showed the percentage change from the period I had selected, usually year to date. The report on QB online doesn't show or have an option that I can see for this.
I have to say, I am pretty dissatisfied with QB online, its slow and just not as easy to have multiple reports open at once. When I make a change on my check register, and save it, it does not go back to the exact spot I was in, pretty annoying. Also, I have not found a way to have my check register on my main page, like I used to. Ugh!
I'll help with your question running Profit and Loss and other related concerns, georgeDN.
The reports in QBO and Mac have their own similarities and differences. Similar to the Mac version, you can customize it add the percentages column. Here's how:
Please take note that the comparison is based on a year-on-year period unlike from the one in the Mac version. Although, you can customize the report period to monthly or weekly, it will only show the data from last year. At the moment, there's no option to show it from a specific period to another one.
Also, there's actually a way of opening the bank register directly from the Home page. Just go the Dashboard menu and proceed to the Bank Accounts sections. Then, click the bank account to directly open the register.
With regards to being able to be routed back to the same spot after making changes, you can send feedback to our engineers. You can also do the same for getting the option to open multiple reports at once. Suggestions and feature requests are reviewed when new updates are designed.

Thanks for the response. Af far as the P&L customization option, I don't have any of those options available. You can see what I have available in the photo I uploaded.
As far as getting to my checking account easily when I go to the second menu from Business Overview, to Bank Accounts, I can go to my checking but it sends me to the review page. If I click on Cash Expense I have to go to a another drop down menu for my checking. All if this are many steps to just see my check register.

Thanks again. Yes, I am using Simple Start, because it does most of what I need. So unhappy that I can't run reports that I need. The next level up is $600 per year! Ugh!
I completely share your frustration and concern. I felt forced into switching from QB for Mac to QB Online. The entire migration has been a nightmare and this simple but important report isn't easily and completely available without spending an exorbitant amount of money for features I don't need. I really feel that QB couldn't care less about sole proprietors.
