Zelle transactions

Hello! I have a nonprofit and I get donations through Zelle into my bank account. I used to have Quickbooks Desktop but recently switched to Quickbooks Online. Is there a way to mass categorize these individual transactions?

Zelle transactions

I've got you covered on how to batch categorize the Zelle bank transactions in QuickBooks Online (QBO), Cami94.

If you already added the Zelle transactions to the program, we can bulk categorize them in the Expenses and Banking page. We can follow the steps I've listed below.

For expense transactions:

  1. Go to Expenses from the sidebar menu.
  2. Click the checkboxes of the transactions you'd like to categorize.
  3. Tap the Batch Actions drop-down list, then select Categorize selected.
  4. Choose the appropriate category, then press Apply.

For online banking transactions:

  1. Go to Transactions from the sidebar menu.
  2. Click the Banking tab, and choose the appropriate bank account.
  3. Select the For review tab, then tick the checkboxes of the transactions you'd like to categorize.
  4. Click the Edit button, then select the correct category from the drop-down menu.
  5. When you're done, hit Apply or Apply and accept.

If you are using the QBO Advanced version, we can use the reclassify transactions tool to batch edit transactions. You can check out this article for more details: Reclassify or move multiple transactions in QuickBooks Online Accountant and Advanced.

In the future, we can use bank rules to automatically categorize transactions from your bank by following the steps and details in this article: Set up bank rules to categorize online banking transactions in QuickBooks Online.

Please feel free to ask further questions or clarifications about managing your Zelle transactions or any banking concerns. I'll get back to you as soon as possible. Take care always.
