5 Weekend Habits

Did somebody say Friday? Well, my Community friends, welcome to the best day of the week. I hope you are looking forward to having a great weekend. Before you check out for the day, I want to share this article by Fast Company about 5-weekend habits that will help you achieve your goals. Here's what they had to say:

Create a Plan and Schedule It
When I reviewed this point, my initial thought was, why would I want to plan out what I do on the weekends? I'm super spontaneous and usually go with the flow, but then I realized I never really get to achieve what was needed to be done. The author brings out a good point of scheduling time and planning for the weekend to prioritize what is important. For example, if you are trying to write a book, take 1-2 hours on the weekend to be creative and edit your work.

Revisit your goals
How many of you have set goals and end up not on track after a while? I will admit I set a goal of losing some weight this year. I was on track, but now how life is going has caused me to place that on a back burner. The less time you take to revisit your goals, the more other things will interfere. A great tip mentioned is setting small milestones, measuring your progress, and taking the time on the weekend to analyze your efforts.

Build-in Accountability
According to researchers, people with an accountability partner are 85%-95% more likely to accomplish their goals. This is why it is great to surround yourself with people who would motivate you or force you to do better. The author advised the best way to stay committed is to share your goals with others.

Think Ahead
The authors shared an exercise to help you look forward to the future and let that be your motivation.
  1. Identify three priorities that can help you achieve your goal.
  2. Picture yourself finishing the weekend.
  3. Check off the things once completed.

Find Ways to Improve
Although every weekend may not go according to plan, take some to highlight what went wrong and find ways to improve this going forward. The writer said this which I found motivating, and hopefully, it can be encouraging to you. "The more we learn from our mistakes and grow from them, the more likely we are to reach our goals."

Have you tried scheduling and planning your weekend to achieve your goals? If so, how did it turn out? Please let us know below. We look forward to reading your responses. Until then, continue to be safe and be well, my Community comrades.
