Welcome back to the Business Discussion! Today I have found an interesting article that I would like to share from Stuff. Usually, while researching on Google, I tend to go with the first or second results that appear. Rarely, I would look through the rest of the links to try to find information. Wouldn't you like to see your business appear in the top three results?
Corey Hinde from Good Oil Marketing expressed that by using Google My Business App, you can become apart of the Google 3 Pack. This simply means being in the top three when users search for a specific business or activity. Here's what he had to say:
Check whether you have a Google Business Listing.
This can be done by researching your business name into Google. If you don't have a business listing, one can be created by using this link to start the process. During this time, Google will send you a postcard. This is important because this allows you to have a business profile across Google Search and Maps.
Ensure your website is secure.
With Google, having a secured website is a plus to protect any data. Rather than using an HTTP site, it is recommended to have an HTTPS site. If you don't have one, speaking with a web developer to correct this is best.
Decide what category and keywords you want to be found under.
This step is critical to the entire process. Your best bet is consulting with your customers and employees to see what they searched for to find your company. Compiling what they mentioned and what you have researched can help you get in the Google 3-Pack. So please be careful when choosing your words or phrases to describe your business.
Check your SEO and page speed.
By using the Neil Patel SEO Analyser, it can run a diagnostic test to determine your search engine optimization. If your score is below 80 for page speed, some work is going to be needed to increase this.
Update and complete the info on your listing.
Mr. Hinde explained how important it is to have your page updated and completed. Attaching your hours of operation, phone number, business description is vital to your profile. Explore options such as adding business photos and creating your first post, including those keywords, as mentioned before. These updates show Google that you are a relevant business and boost your chances.
Get Google reviews
Getting good reviews definitely will help your cause. A perfect example of how to reach out and ask for reviews would be to send a general email to your customers. Include the link for the customer to leave their feedback and thank them for their business. Also, answering customer questions in a timely manner would build your ranking, and it's an overall great practice.
For more information about this, I highly advise reading through the article. I would love to hear your thoughts about this!
