Book Suggestions for Business Owners

I don’t know about you, but reading is something I am always trying to do more of. It can be hard to prioritize but recently I have been getting into nonfiction. It’s quite a change from my usual murder-mystery genre, but I have found there’s a lot of great tips to apply to life and I think a couple books would be great for business owners. Here are a couple of my recommendations:

The Power of Moments by Chip and Dan Heath
Want to know what “magic moments” you can create for you customers? What makes a moment truly stick out to someone, and lead them to remember it forever? This book talks about how things can leave an impression and help you be more intentional about creating those moments so they aren’t accidental.

Radical Candor by Kim Scott
This book clearly outlines how to have “radical candor” as a boss. What does that mean? It’s a way to lead that emphasizes honesty, relationship, and heart. Scott highlights the common managing failures and how to build trust within your team.  If you want to be a great boss and not just a good one, this is a must read. There are also YouTube videos and Ted Talk if you want an abridged video version.

Atomic Habits by James Clear
This one is next on my reading list! Clear talks about only about good habits to incorporate into your life, but also how to break bad ones (like me staying up to 1 am many nights and waking up so tired for work). With over 64,000 reviews on Amazon, people cannot sing enough praises about his book and how it’s affected their life. Ready to adapt some lasting habits in your life, add this to your list!

And now to open it up to you, Community. Any reads that have you excited? What about a book that was pivotal in your business or life changing for you? We’d love to hear from you!
