Five Photography Marketing Practices

Hello Community! Hope you’ve had a productive week and have taken some time to relax and recharge. The world is constantly changing and so are businesses! Many moons ago you could put an ad in a newspaper, and now you see people selling out their inventory because of Tik Tok. Don’t worry, I’m not about to teach you a Tik Tok dance to get views… but I will say there are so many ways to show off and bring attention to your company. Let’s talk about marketing and photography!

According to PetaPixel, “Photography is back in business post-pandemic, and we’ve seen rapid changes in marketing strategies this year. New clients are at your fingertips with opportunities to advertise in new and surprisingly, easier ways.” So let’s talk about ways to work this into your business. 

Create Short Video Content

This is the new practice that won't only be fun but be a good tool to get those views. Short form videos are all the rage and a quick way to share your business and also get new customers. “We are trying to build new experiences in new areas,” said Instagram Head Adam Mosseri. “The first is creators, trying to help them make a living. This has to do with the shift in power from institutions to individuals across industries.” Long story short, social media is for everyone so take advantage of the opportunity!

Partner with other Vendors

If being on camera doesn’t excite you, how about networking? Get to know your community and others that work in your field and team up. Even people outside your area of expertise can be a great resource and unique opportunity to get your business in front of an audience you wouldn’t normally have access to. Here’s a tip from the article: “Pro tip: Pursue one marketing method at a time, and don’t get overwhelmed. Eventually, you will build SEO, different social channels, and more, but your greatest leverage is focusing on one marketing effort at a time.”

Update your customer experience

While cash and checks may be something you’re more comfortable with, it can be an outdated experience for your customers. Going digital makes it easy for prospective clients and also gives you a creative way to promote your brand.  With invoices or newsletters, you can have a call to action that prompts users to leave feedback on Google or your website. Offer discounts or referral programs and you extend your customer interactions in a way that benefits you.
