Be Transparent With Your Staff
Miscommunication is a significant issue in our everyday lives. I don't know about you, but there are times when I get upset, but it always boils down to miscommunication. The writer urges us to be transparent to avoid this. By being transparent, it builds trust, understanding, and empathy with team members! If you are clear and concise with giving instructions, your employees will most likely do what is asked of them without complaints or confusion.

Focus on listening
This is an area I can personally say I struggle with. Sometimes I can be caught up in my thoughts that I don't pause to consider what others may have to say. Here are some ways the writer mentioned why it is essential to listen:

  • It shows your team that you care about their views and value their opinions.
  • It helps you better understand the pain points in the company and take steps to overcome them.
  • It gives new employees and junior members the confidence to voice their opinions and ideas, breeding creativity and innovation.
  • It fosters a collaborative, empathetic, and supportive work culture.

Repeat your self
Yes, this can be a bit much at times when you have to repeat yourself. Trust me, I know! I have an accent, and for my entire life, it feels as if I have been repeating myself so people can understand me properly. And in a case when dealing with employees, ensure that the essential points are mentioned often because when dealing with a lot of different tasks, we tend to forget at times.

Create Dialogue
This is probably my favorite point. Don't be the only one to offer solutions. Ask open-ended questions to get feedback from employees and not only make a note of them but actively incorporate them into your business.
